Sri Jayanthi Celebrations

The auspicious occasion of the birth of Lord Sri Krishna is referred to as Sri Krishna Jayanthi or Gokulashtami or Janmashtami or simply Sri Jayanthi. It is celebrated with great fervor throughout the world. Whether the celebrations are held in the Sravana Month (August) or in the Badrapada month (September, as has happened this year), Sri Jayanthi is a festival that brings people of all ages together. Under the direction of His Holiness Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, Jeeyar Educational Trust will be celebrating the appearance of Lord Sri Krishna to bring together interested devotees celebrate virtually.



  • Fancy Dress - Krishna / Gopika Theme (for children up to 13 years)

  • Recitation of slokas on Krishna (for children up to 13 years)

  • Classical / Folk music celebrating Krishna

  • Classical / Folk dance celebrating Krishna

  • An act that will please Krishna - Get creative, learn what pleases him, send a picture/video of you doing that activity.

Entries are due by September 3, 2020

  • All videos must be taken in landscape orientation, with proper lighting, and good video quality.

  • Participants are encouraged to wear traditional clothes showcasing our culture.

  • The video should have a plain background, or a Janmashtami themed decoration.

  • If you are presenting a dance, please treat this as a professional presentation.

  • Please limit sloka recitation to a maximum of 5 minutes, and music or dance videos to a maximum of 8 minutes.

  • Entries are due by September 3rd. Please feel free to submit sooner.

  • Make sure that all requirements are satisfied! Any submissions not following the requirements will not be included in the final presentation.

  • If you have difficulty sharing videos, please put them on your Google drive, make the link accessible, share the link in field provided in the form for content
